Every environment introduces primary and secondary threats, and the creatures are not merely reskinned pursuers: each one has particular strengths, weaknesses, and behaviors players need to learn through observation and scattered hints. A sanity system adds pressure beyond simply staying out of an enemy’s reach, demanding attention to the dangers in the environment as well as the monsters themselves.

Proximity voice chat is one of Zort’s strongest features, especially because atmospheric voice filters alter how teammates sound during a run. That mechanic turns coordination into part of the horror, making distance, confusion, and separation feel more immediate than in a standard lobby-chat co-op game. Its straightforward progression avoids overly obscure puzzle logic while still leaving room for discovery, creature knowledge, and repeat attempts. Players who enjoy the cooperative tension of Phasmophobia or escape-focused horror games, but want more guided map objectives and varied enemy gimmicks, should find plenty to enjoy here.
