Gear drops, crafting materials, rare finds, and a banking system give progression a satisfying sense of permanence, even when a character’s journey ends. Players who dislike traditional roguelike punishment can choose Adventure Mode, while modifiers, challenge runs, and tougher settings give veterans plenty of ways to raise the stakes.

Monster collecting is the standout twist: many creatures can be captured, raised as companions, and bred in the Monster Corral, adding a light creature-management layer to the dungeon loop. Item Dreams send equipment into strange randomized side areas that can improve a favorite weapon or accessory, making loot feel more personal than in many procedural crawlers. Handcrafted locations break up the random generation, and the excellent SNES-inspired presentation is backed by a soundtrack from notable RPG and game-music composers.
