Set before Attack of the Clones, it follows the future template for the clone army as he accepts a dangerous contract to track Komari Vosa, a rogue Force user commanding the criminal Bando Gora cult. The journey moves from grimy city streets and prison compounds to foundries, starships, and alien hideouts, capturing the pulpy, dangerous side of the galaxy far from Jedi diplomacy. Its tone is more rough-and-ready bounty hunter fantasy than heroic space opera.

Combat centers on Jango’s twin pistols, with targeting and evasive movement keeping firefights mobile rather than cover-based. A flamethrower clears close-range threats, the whipcord stuns or grabs certain targets, and the jetpack allows short bursts of aerial maneuvering while also supporting platforming sections. Missions combine linear combat arenas with environmental traversal, occasional switches and objectives, boss encounters, and the series’ signature bounty system: scanning NPCs can reveal optional marks worth capturing for extra credits. Those rewards encourage paying attention to crowded levels, although the campaign’s checkpoints, camera behavior, and demanding jumps retain some unmistakable early-2000s design.

What separates STAR WARS: Bounty Hunter from many licensed action games is its commitment to making Jango feel equipped for the job rather than simply reskinning a generic shooter. The modern release improves the presentation and controls for current hardware while preserving the original campaign, including its chunky enemy encounters and cinematic prequel-era atmosphere. It is not an open-world hunting simulator, and players expecting the polish of Jedi: Survivor may find its structure dated, but its directness remains appealing. Fans of Republic Commando, classic PS2 action games, and Mandalorian lore get the most from it, while newcomers should arrive ready for a compact, occasionally unforgiving retro adventure.
