The result is more intimate than action-heavy: a compact, melodramatic trip through obsession, artificial life, and the uncomfortable price of devotion. Its cheerful presentation keeps the horror from becoming relentlessly grim, but the underlying mood is deliberately tense.

Play centers on guiding the robot through a largely narrative-driven voyage, following dialogue, story events, and the shifting relationship with Luna and the ship’s other personalities. The music helps sell both sides of that identity, supporting tender scenes without letting players forget that something is wrong beneath the ship’s polished, pastel surface. Space Yandere feels closer to a concise horror visual novel with light RPG framing than to a traditional stats-and-loot role-playing game, so players expecting tactical battles may be disappointed.
