A haunted high school becomes a deadly maze when every patch of darkness can hide something hungry. LIT casts you as Jake, a brooding teenager searching for his missing girlfriend Rachael through classrooms, corridors, gyms, and other familiar spaces turned sinister after nightfall. Its horror is more about pressure and atmosphere than combat: the building feels abandoned, the shadows constantly limit your options, and a wrong move can mean an instant, gruesome end. The result is a compact puzzle-horror adventure with a distinctly comic-book sense of style.

Each room presents a route-planning problem built around keeping Jake in the light. You move between illuminated safe zones and manipulate the environment by switching on lamps, using televisions, lighting matches, breaking windows for moonlight, firing objects with a slingshot, and carrying or throwing bulbs to create new paths. Dark creatures do not need complicated attack patterns to be threatening; they turn every unlit tile into a hazard, so success comes from reading the layout, conserving useful tools, and knowing when to make a risky dash. Sixteen stages steadily introduce new interactions and more demanding room designs, while par-time targets encourage faster, cleaner solutions after you finish a level once.

What makes LIT memorable is how clearly it turns light into both a puzzle resource and a survival mechanic. Rather than asking for twitch reflexes or a pile of weapons, it delivers tense, self-contained challenges closer to a lethal escape room, with the visual flair and darkly melodramatic tone associated with WayForward’s earlier work. HD presentation, keyboard and controller support, alternate endings, and an unlockable extra character give this PC edition more reason to revisit its compact campaign. Fans of atmospheric puzzle games such as Limbo, or players who enjoy survival-horror tension without extended combat, should find plenty to like, while newcomers can handle its simple controls if they are willing to experiment and accept a few shadowy mistakes.
