Combat uses fast, accessible 3D fighting built around three-person teams. Players dash through open arenas, chain light and heavy attacks, spend meter on powerful abilities, block or evade incoming pressure, and switch partners to extend combos or escape a bad matchup. Each recognizable fighter brings familiar moves and transformations, from energy beams and sword techniques to devastating cinematic ultimates, while the custom avatar learns abilities inspired by multiple series. Story missions, optional battles, character upgrades, cosmetic unlocks, and online matches provide reasons to keep assembling new teams after the campaign’s spectacle wears off.

What separates JUMP FORCE from a traditional anime brawler is the sheer fantasy of mixing franchises that rarely meet: Naruto can support Yugi, Kenshiro can trade blows with Frieza, and a personally designed fighter can borrow techniques from all of them. Its realistic character models and destructible-looking arenas give the crossover a heavier visual identity than the cel-shaded style common to licensed anime fighters, although the story and presentation can feel uneven. Combat is easier to pick up than many technical tournament fighters, but timing dodges, managing meter, and reading opponents still reward practice. Fans who want the crossover appeal of Super Smash Bros. filtered through arena fighters such as Dragon Ball Xenoverse will find the most to enjoy here, especially if their favorite Shonen Jump heroes are represented.
