A battered merchant vessel becomes your ticket to profit, danger, and questionable romantic decisions during the American Revolution. You play Mr. Law, a trader attempting to sail from Quebec to Spanish Louisiana while warfare, shortages, taxes, and supernatural trouble make every voyage less straightforward than it sounds. The tone mixes economic survival with deliberately absurd anime comedy: one minute you are calculating the value of rum, and the next you are trying not to lose your soul or offend a colony represented as a girl. Beneath the jokes sits a volatile maritime sandbox where being in the right port at the right time can make a fortune.

Trading drives the campaign across more than a dozen ports, with prices reacting to blockades, battles, local scarcity, and even the player’s own attempts to monopolize a market. Cargo space, crew pay, morale, ship upgrades, debt, and increasingly painful taxes all demand attention, so success comes from balancing long-term planning against desperate runs for cash. Naval encounters use dice-led battles inspired by 100% Orange Juice, asking you to roll for attacks, defenses, and evasive maneuvers against patrols, privateers, monsters, and stranger threats. Political allegiance also matters: supporting Patriots, Loyalists, or opportunistically shifting between both changes access to ports, enemies at sea, and the people willing to deal with you.

Its strongest hook is the collision of Recettear-style shopkeeping, Sid Meier’s Pirates! trading, and FTL-like runs where bad luck can turn a promising expedition into a financial disaster. The war continues around you rather than waiting for your input, allowing towns to suffer, demand to spike, and trade routes to transform as the conflict develops. Social-stat progression and dating scenes with the state-chans add a visual-novel layer that is knowingly silly but tied to dialogue choices and faction standing.
