Frincess&Cnight (v2021.11.28)

A cursed frog princess and an overeager cat knight turn a prison break into a two-character test of timing, trust, and patience. Frincess&Cnight is a compact action-puzzle platformer set inside a trap-filled dungeon, where the royal rescue fantasy is deliberately undercut by clumsy heroics and knowingly awkward romance. Its tone stays playful rather than grim, mixing danger with deliberately silly dialogue as the pair struggle toward freedom.

Players switch between the princess and knight to solve rooms built around their different positions and abilities. One character may need to hold a switch, distract a hazard, reach a ledge, or create a safe route while the other pushes ahead, so progress depends on coordinating both sides rather than simply racing to the exit. Platforming challenges include spikes, moving obstacles, enemies, and hazards that punish rushed movement, while puzzles ask for careful sequencing and spatial awareness. The campaign contains 55 stages and generally lasts four to five hours, with local co-op allowing two players to share responsibility; remote play support also makes it easy to tackle the escape with a friend.

The appeal lies in its willingness to serve two audiences at once: puzzle fans get frequent logic-based rooms, while action players still have plenty of jumping, dodging, and frantic recoveries to manage. Alternating control gives the levels a cooperative flavor even when playing alone, and couch co-op can make the knight and princess’s incompetence considerably funnier. The dungeon setting is straightforward, but the romantic comedy framing and constant mix of traps and teamwork give it more personality than a typical indie platformer. Players who enjoy the cooperative problem-solving of games such as Trine, but want a shorter, more stripped-down challenge, should find plenty to like here, especially with a partner willing to laugh through a few messy rescues.
