A cursed kingdom where nobody can sprout wings gives FlyKnight an oddball fantasy premise, but its mood leans more toward tense dungeon crawling than whimsical adventure. You play a stranded squire from an insect-themed knightly order, pushing through swamps, ruined passages, and the domain of the witch Lunamoth after an ambush scatters your companions. The goal is simple—end the curse and earn true knighthood—but the route is packed with hostile creatures, hidden routes, and bosses built to punish careless fighting. Its compact, handcrafted world creates the feeling of a focused old-school action RPG rather than a vast open-world quest.

Combat revolves around deliberate positioning and choosing tools for each threat. Different weapons offer reach, speed, and stopping power, while targeted attacks let you disable enemies in useful ways: severing an arm can stop an attack pattern, and crushing a head can rob a foe of awareness. You search branching areas for gear and supplies, then use checkpoints as safe places to recover before pressing deeper into the dungeon. Equipment customization supports different approaches, whether you favor safer ranged pressure, long-reaching polearms, or close-range aggression, and fishing at rest points provides buff-granting catches that can make a difficult encounter more manageable.

Co-op is the feature that gives the adventure extra personality, allowing two to four players to tackle the campaign together while sharing items, splitting up to investigate paths, and communicating through gestures. Progress carries over for everyone involved, making it better suited to an ongoing group than a throwaway session. The game stands out through its unusual body-part-focused combat, playful low-fantasy aesthetic, and emphasis on compact exploration with meaningful optional detours. Players who enjoy the caution and boss tension of Souls-like RPGs, but want a lighter, more approachable presentation and proper shared progression, should find plenty to like here; solo players still get a demanding, rewarding dungeon run.
