Neo-Berlin in 2062 is a rain-soaked corporate maze where a nine-year-old scavenger and her oversized robot protector try to survive above the streets. ENCODYA is a story-driven point-and-click adventure that mixes classic adventure-game problem solving with a surprisingly sincere cyberpunk fable. Tina is resourceful, stubborn, and far more capable than her age suggests, while SAM-53 provides comic relief as the clumsy machine devoted to keeping her safe. Their search for the truth behind Tina’s father and a mission to restore color to a bleak future gives the game a warm emotional core beneath its grimy neon exterior.

Most of the journey revolves around inspecting hand-crafted locations, collecting useful objects, talking to strange residents, and combining clues to overcome environmental puzzles. Players control both Tina and SAM-53, with each character’s perspective and abilities helping move specific situations forward. The city contains more than a hundred areas, from rooftop shanties and corporate districts to stranger reality-bending spaces, and conversations with its large cast often reveal both solutions and world-building details. Puzzle elements occasionally use randomized arrangements, which can make repeat runs less predictable, though the overall experience remains a deliberate, narrative-led adventure rather than a fast action game.

ENCODYA stands out through its 2.5D presentation: expressive illustrated characters move through detailed futuristic backdrops that feel inspired by Blade Runner’s urban decay but carry the whimsy of old-school LucasArts adventures. Its world is cynical about corporations and automation, yet the relationship between Tina and SAM keeps the tone humane, funny, and hopeful. Cinematic scenes, full voice acting, and an atmospheric electronic soundtrack give the story more polish than many indie adventure games manage.
