A plane wreck turns a tropical paradise into a demanding survival problem, with dense greenery above ground and valuable, dangerous depths below it. You awaken alongside the remains of the crash and meet an elderly survivor whose knowledge of the island helps frame its stranger history. The mood balances colorful island exploration with the constant pressure of hunger, health, weather, and limited supplies. Dig Island is less about simply finding a way home than deciding how far underground you are willing to risk going in order to build one.

Progress revolves around digging through successive layers of earth, collecting basic materials near the surface before pursuing rarer ores and components at greater depths. Every expedition needs planning: tools wear down, food must be secured through fishing and gathering, and getting trapped far below ground can turn a productive run into a setback. Materials feed into a chain of crafting stations where players smelt ore, refine parts, and assemble better equipment, utility devices, and upgrades.
