Orca Isle turns a ruined holiday into a loud, ugly, gleefully ridiculous revenge rampage. Captain Wayne – Vacation Desperation is a hand-drawn first-person shooter built around an absurd antihero: a pink-clad, cigar-chewing sailor whose missing arm is replaced by a twin-barrel shotgun. After mercenaries strand him and steal his vessel, Wayne tears across the island looking to settle the score with extreme prejudice. The mood is violent, cartoonish, and deliberately tasteless in the best old-school shooter tradition, with a grimy sense of humor underpinning every explosion.

Combat favors speed, aggression, and getting dangerously close to the target. Wayne’s shotgun arm doubles as a point-blank battering ram, while chain-gun fingers, heavy punches, firearms, and throwable Boom Brew explosives offer different ways to clear rooms of Killer Whale mercenaries. The campaign runs through eight large hostile zones, pushing players through enemy-packed arenas and dangerous island spaces while animated story scenes keep the revenge plot moving. An Endless Mode strips away the narrative and tests how long you can survive escalating waves, making it a natural fit for score-chasers and players who want to master the combat tools.

What immediately separates Captain Wayne from the usual retro-FPS crowd is its presentation: the action plays out like a deranged, elaborately illustrated cartoon rather than a simple pixel-art throwback. Its weapon concepts are intentionally stupid in a memorable way, and the game commits fully to making every enemy encounter feel noisy, messy, and personal. The soundtrack and animated cutscenes give the campaign more character than a straightforward arena shooter, even when the plot is mostly an excuse to wreck mercenaries and steal from wealthy targets. Fans of Doom, Duke Nukem, and modern boomer shooters with a strong comedic streak should find plenty to enjoy, while newcomers should expect a demanding, fast-moving shooter that rewards confidence over caution.
