A failed prison expedition leaves two castaways stranded on a hostile red planet, where survival depends less on firepower than on whether two people can truly understand one another. BOKURA: planet is a compact, story-driven co-op puzzle adventure set in a strange post-apocalyptic future: humanity has fallen back to primitive living, then improbably clawed its way into space again. Its bleak premise carries an offbeat, almost playful edge, using stylized visuals and unsettling mysteries rather than constant action to build its mood. Each survivor wants to get home, but neither player has the full picture of what that journey demands.

Two players connect from separate machines and move through the same journey while receiving different visual information, forcing them to describe clues, environments, and obstacles aloud. Progress comes from comparing perspectives, coordinating movement, and figuring out how each player’s version of the world affects the other’s route. The new Push action lets one partner launch the other across gaps or into new positions, turning cooperation into a physical puzzle tool that can also create plenty of accidental chaos. Hidden individual goals complicate every conversation, because players need each other to advance while quietly pursuing motives their partner may not know about.

That built-in mistrust is what gives BOKURA: planet its identity. Where many co-op puzzlers simply test whether partners can communicate efficiently, this one asks whether they can cooperate when honesty may not always be the best option. Its roughly three-hour length makes it well suited to a single focused session with a friend, especially one willing to talk through unusual scenes instead of rushing toward answers. Fans of the original BOKURA, It Takes Two’s collaborative problem-solving, or Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes’ information-sharing tension should find plenty to enjoy, though the intimate narrative focus and mandatory two-player setup make it a deliberate choice rather than a solo-friendly adventure.
