Asterix & Obelix – Mission Babylon

Roman helmets fly in every direction as Asterix and Obelix leave their familiar Gaulish village for a colorful journey across the Parthian Empire. Caesar’s influence reaches far beyond Rome, and his ally, the sorcerer Bahmbuhzeli, poisons King Monipehni in an attempt to weaken the region before an invasion. The two heroes must track down unusual antidote ingredients, help the people they meet, and turn Roman patrols into the usual slapstick wreckage. Its tone stays faithful to the comics: breezy, mischievous, and full of exaggerated brawls rather than grim historical drama.

Action-platforming drives the adventure across four distinct regions, culminating in a visit to Babylon, a setting rarely used in the series’ games. Levels mix straightforward traversal, enemy-filled arenas, collectible hunting, and light objective-based tasks as the duo searches for what the cure requires. Asterix relies on speed, agility, and potion-fuelled strength, while Obelix brings his naturally immense power to smashing enemies and obstacles, giving their combat styles a useful contrast. The campaign supports solo play as well as local co-op, allowing two players to share the screen and coordinate attacks against legionaries, tougher enemy types, and larger boss encounters; replayable stages also encourage returning for missed items or stronger runs.

Mission Babylon stands out through its comic-book energy and a premise that takes the famous pair beyond the familiar Roman-occupied corners of Europe. The Parthian landscapes, village requests, and Babylonian finale give the game more variety than a simple procession of Roman beatdowns, even if gleefully battering Rome remains central to the appeal. Combat looks designed to be accessible rather than deeply technical, making it a natural fit for younger players, casual co-op partners, and fans who want a cheerful arcade-style adventure.
